Leaders Create Leaders – A Lesson from ‘The Score Takes Care Of Itself’

I started reading legenadary football coach Bill Walsh’s book The Score Takes Care of Itself, and devoured it… then, I went back through and pulled a few outstanding points, passages, and quotes.

The whole book is full of good thoughts, but it also has a special quality about it that I can’t exactly pinpoint. It’s just… enriching.

The book has the same effect as it appears Walsh’s career had–not only did he coach winning teams, he created winning mindsets. He mentored coaches who mentored more coaches… a veritable Walshian legacy of coaching success.

That may be the most impressive part of his career.

It definitely speaks volumes that by creating leaders, he became even more of a leader. It’s a simple reminder that the highest level of leadership is making more leaders.
