Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.

There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction. | JFK

The status quo is intoxicating. Its warm, fuzzy comfort makes anything outside of that zone risky and, therefore, unadvisable, unattractive, and unappealing.

Change is scary & I won’t even pretend like it’s not. Change may be one of the single most paralyzing elements that we face. So, to combat it, we carve out spaces for ourselves in life & just kinda orbit around them and all their familiarity…

…and stay the same.

But we can only be as big as the space we’re in. And that’s not just physical… it’s the space in our minds, the “big-ness” of our thinking, the expansiveness of our perspectives… being open to new ideas, experiences, patterns… new possibilities… new REALITIES.

If you want to be better, do better, live better, you have to step outside of what you’ve always done, that is, to get something you’ve never gotten, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.

The only risk, when it comes to achieving greatness, is staying the same. The only risk to your future is not believing that you can break out of that confined space, of those walls you’ve built around yourself and the status quo.

The only real risk is to stay put.

The only real risk is to play it safe.

The greatest risk is not to test yourself. Don’t think of it as stepping outside of your comfort zone. Think of it as changing what you consider your comfort zone. It’s not apart from you, rather, it’s a part of you that you can take with you wherever you go.

Make your Self your comfort zone. And cultivate your belief in yourself there, too.

That belief–the quiet voice inside that says I CAN DO THIS–is the key to success.

So… act. Do something… define a new life, build a new reality. MAKE YOU HAPPEN.
