Day 69 – You Can Do Whatever You Want*

Growing up, there were a lot of people who were quick to throw around words & ideas like:
You can do whatever you want. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Fake it till you make it. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
After the changes I have experienced over the past few weeks, I think this is a totally bogus and misguided notion to impart on children.
Just because we really want to be something, it doesn’t mean we will be it. It has to go deeper. There has to be a mindset of already having whatever is the desired goal, and then the decision-making behind it. I think that’s what acting like whatever you want to be truly means – not just to act like it on the surface, but to be it, and make the decisions of someone who already has it.
If iwant to be a healthier person, I have to act like a healthy person. That means eating what a healthy person eats. That means to do whatever activities a healthy person does. And it means to have the same values and priorities as a healthy person.
